A week full of rumors...!

Like any other week, there were numerous rumours surrounding the transfer of player to and from United. Here is a brief look at the players concerned:

1. Bastian Schweinsteiger:

At 26 ,a perfect mix of young but experienced, this Right footed German international who has been in Bayern since 1998, first in the youth team and then in the senior squad, is strongly been linked with United. The rumors gained strength when the player refused to renew his contract with the club. Schweinsteiger has won many trophies in his still continuing career including five Bundesliga titles, five German Cups and two League Cups

A versatile player who can play almost anywhere in midfield, he has excellent dribbling skills, and is a specialist at set pieces, an area where United are still missing Ronaldo. Schweinsteiger also has a hard shot, and often scores from outside the penalty area. He is also noted to have "boundless energy" referring to "Schweini's" incredible stamina and ability to motor up and down the field for the entire length of matches, while playing at a consistently strong level. Though United are keenly monitoring the player who is supposed to fill the void once Paul Scholes retires, Bayern Chairman released a statement saying “our goal is to agree a long-term contract extension. And we've agreed … that Bastian will not under any circumstances be allowed to leave until his contract ends.''

Though the player himself admitted that his brother, a Manchester United fan, is constantly nagging him about joining United. Though United are set to fight Inter, Real and Chelsea if they are to sign this talented midfielder.

PROBABILITY: HIGHLY LIKELY

2. Yannick dos Santos Djaló :

United winger Luis Nani seems to be missing his old team mates from his time at Sporting Lisbon. He has suggested a couple of youngsters to Sir Alex, Djalo being one of them. Djalo, still just 24 years of age can play as a winger or a second striker. He has been scoring consistently for his club and made his first appearance in Portugal senior squad coming on as a sub for last 6 minutes against Cyprus in 2010. He is considered to be best friends with Nani and Miguel Veloso, the other player Nani suggested.

PROBABILITY: MODERATE

3. Miguel Veloso:
The defensive midfielder from Portugal who could also operate as a Left Back, he is best known for his defensive display against Inter in UEFA Champions League debut where he stopped the likes of Figo and Vieira from dominating the game. He has made 14 international appearances, netting the ball once. Though the chances of him getting transferred are sleek because of his recent transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Italian club Genoa C.F.C.

PROBABILITY: UNLIKELY

4. Pepe Reina:

United have already signed the Danish keeper Lindegaard, but still chances are that Fergie would raid the transfer market for another keeper who would take up Van Der Sar’s place as the first choice keeper. Pepe Reina is the obvious choice with the player getting frustrated with the consistent poor performance by his present club, Liverpool. The Spanish international who joined the club under Rafa Benitez is also unhappy about the way things are being run under Roy Hodgson and wants to leave the club as early as possible. But considering the fact that no exchange of players has taken between the clubs since 1964, its           not going to be easy for Sir Alex.

PROBABILITY: LIKELY!

5. Marko Marin:

Dubbed as the “German Messi”, the player currently plays for Bundesliga side Werder Bremen (the same club Mesut Oezil used to play for). Still just 22 years of age, the winger has already made 15 international appearances, scoring once. The player is 5’7”
and could be an ideal replacement for the legendary Ryan Giggs once he decides to hang his boots. Tagged at 16.5 million pounds, he is certainly overpriced but talents like him are rare and United, having already missed on Oezil should pounce on the player. They may expect a bidding war with the cash rich Real Madrid and Chelsea.

PROBABILITY: LIKELY

6. Yuto Nagamoto:

The Japanese international, currently on loan at Serie A side Cesena F.C., plays as a full back. He has impressed everyone in the Serie A with his high energy levels and frequent burst of speed. He played for Japan in the 2010 World Cup and was named in Arsene Wenger’s best XI of the tournament. The player has expressed his desire for a move to a Premier League club, and with G.Neville set to retire, he is an ideal replacement.

PROBABILITY: LIKELY

7. David Luiz:

The immensely talented Benefica/Brazilian defender has been a target for many top clubs including Real Madrid and Barcelona since the day he started playing. Now City and
Chelsea too have joined the race to sign him. Luiz admits he is aware of the rumours, and although he concedes any
decision will have to be made by Benfica, he refused to pledge his immediate future to the club suggesting at this stage anything was possible. Tagged at 25 millions, he is worth every penny spent.

PROBABILITY: UNLIKELY

8. Gary Cahill:

Last in the list, United have been heavily linked with the 6ft.2in Bolton Central defender. With Rio Ferdinand yet to fully recover from his back problems and Johnny Evans not playing upto his full potential,
Cahill easily fits in the bill. The player who began his career at Aston Villa has been a fan favorite at the Reebok and the club has tagged him with a 25 million price tag.

PROBABILITY: LIKELY

Good News :- According to Fergie, in form striker Danny Welbeck, who has netted 4 goals in last 3 games for Sunderland is likely to return! SAF sent a funny message to Steve Bruce that Mr. Welbeck is required at Old Trafford as soon as possible, this has hit the tabloids this morning.

FOLLOWED BY SOME BAD NEWS:
